Conservative voters have been trained to dislike things that are good for them. That’s why many Republican controlled areas of this country are almost indistinguishable from 3rd world countries.
Next they condemn public restrooms.
Radical left now just means “anybody”
When you are so far right, everyone is far left.
That said, US politics is so bad that this platform is legitimately further left than like 95% of electeds. If this candidate is a Democrat it’s likely that her own party will favor a candidate to her right in primary and if she beats them, possibly still not throw their weight behind her in the general.
Remember that the leader of the Democratic party is basically a domestic spokesperson for Israel and refuses to acknowledge support the most popular politician in his own party.
I’m not sure it’s even possible to frame this list in a bad light? those are all unambiguously excellent things
none of that is bad no matter how you frame it
I don’t they realize just how anti-data center Americans of all political stripes have become.
She could not get better advertising.
It doesn’t matter, The people who watch Focks Nooz wouldn’t vote for a non-red candidate even if the red candidate said they will literally come and burn down your house if you vote for them.
And literally none of that is far-left, of course
How is publicly-owned grocery stores not far left? That’s literal socialism.
Depending on one’s definition, as the store being owned by the government is still having a state apparatus which isn’t anarchism or communism
It’s not far-left because it does not restrict a citizen’s own right to run a for-profit grocery store. She only wants the state to run its own grocery stores. I hope I’m wording this right.
Some other literal socialist institutions that are far left:
- libraries
- parks
- postal service
- public universities
- museums
- hospitals
- healthcare
- the military
This isn’t a far-left policy. This is FDR Democrats.
The postal service has been turned into a junk mail distribution system and there is nothing citizens can do to stop it. It’s infuriating.
Oh and do not be fooled into paying $8 to $9 to companies claiming they can stop the junk mail, that’s a HUGE SCAM.
The one thing you CAN do, and it’s FREE is to place a FREE freeze on your credit file with the following: Experian Equifax Transunion Chexsystems Lexisnexis
These leeches are required by law to provide a free method to freeze access to your credit file. They don’t make it easy to find, and bury it under their paid “premium” offers, usually in a plain-text link at the bottom of the page.
Once you do this, those pre-approved credit cards will stop cold. This will increase your credit score every month, as each one is a “soft inquiry” on your file, costing you thousands over time in higher interest rates, denied credit, and denied leases/rental. It also helps slow down identity theft.
Do this for your kids’ social security numbers as well. Those are prime for theft.
The postal service is still very functional and handles way more than just junk mail.
Is it still socialism if private ones are allowed to exist as well?
Then it’s still a socialist policy, just not 100% immediately.
and none of it will matter because wisconsin is one of the most gerrymandered states in the country, all but a guarantee that republicants will remain in control of the state assembly and none of a democrat governor’s platform will see the light of day.
The new district maps might change that though. Time will tell of course
Stop describing it as a “tax hike”… we want to restore fair taxation after decades of irresponsible tax breaks.
Yeah our country has taxes too low to provide necessary services. Like across the board. Yes, we spend too much on cops, prisons, and war, but we have needs and uncontroversial wants that we can’t fund without higher taxes or ever increasing debt.
That is a strong set of policies. Too bad there’s nothing about the current housing crisis, like disposessing slumlords to turn the properties into subsidised housing or giving renters the option to buy, but still strong.
The fox people couldn’t figure out how to fit those things on the bullet list
Clearly!
Copied and pasted from Francesca Hong’s policy platform page: We’re going to make sure nobody goes to sleep cold, and that renter protections are consistently enforced. As governor, Rep. Hong will use her executive authority to bolster rental unit regulations, pursue aggressive regulation of slumlords and serial housing-law violators, and make it easier for tenants to flag issues and find support.
Ctrl+F for “housing” here: https://francescahong.com/policy/
It was just an offhand comment, but damn, that’s a pretty comprehensive platform. I’d vote for her if she was mine to vote for.
Oh, snap! She had it up her sleeve all along!
Free advertisement! lmao
This is strong ‘Don’t threaten me with a good time’ energy.
“Tax hike on the rich” sounds offensive, I much prefer “forced wealth redistribution or decapitation” personally
