I noticed that too. But it was the gif I found so it was the one I used.

Sounds like you have a firm grasp on this.
Remember when giving Iran money was a thing MAGA hated?
They will always forget everything they ever held true the moment Trump changes his mind. Maybe first they will deny it’s real. But after they do accept it they will promptly say that it is totally worth giving Iran the money. They might even try to get clever and say “we aren’t paying them. We are giving them their own money from frozen accounts” without any awareness that the pallets of money Obama sent Iran was exactly the same thing. Because they are incapable of holding a constant belief.

I used to do this all the time when I worked at a call center.

2·24 days agoI remember when AM radio hosts were bothered by how much Obama was making off merchandising those posters and how unbecoming it was for someone trying to be president.
Weird how those same people said nothing when Trump started merchandizing everything from hats to wear when welcoming back dead soldiers, gold shoes, Bibles, NFT cards and a ballroom.

1·24 days agoThis has gotten stupid. I agree with you overall. I’m against AI slop and the problems that come with it. But this is a direct response to an AI generated thing in the political news. The desired goal isn’t possible without it looking like the original it is a parody of. I didn’t make it. I found it, or more accurately, a friend sent it to me. It existed regardless of my actions.
I shared it because it would make any Trump defender instantly see why the original was a problem because of its subject matter even if they thought it was fine before.
I’m not going to argue any pro AI in gender stance. But I will point out a bad or lazy argument and your 2 million gallons a day thing was so disproportionate to the scale of this one piece that it deserved to be pinged out.
Hate AI, I’m probably with you on 99.99% of your stance. But don’t argue with me using bad arguments. Don’t blame me for it existing. Don’t assume I think I’m a hero (that argument doesn’t even make sense). This whole conversation is like the Narcissism of Small Differences brought to life and it’s dull.
One image is less environmentally and socially impactful to energy and water resources than shipping seven tubes of paint and a canvas halfway around the world and you know it. To argue otherwise is disingenuous.
End this because it’s wasting both our time. Go argue with someone who actually wants AI and uses it. Go find the person that put the prompt in to create this one. Go plant a tree. But find something productive to do because I already agree with you too much for you to make any progress with.

21·24 days agoBut you know that it did not take 2 million gallons to make this. So the daily total is irrelevant.

1·24 days agoWhen was the last time you saw a successful parody that did not mimic the style of the original thing being parodied? When you create a meme do you hand cut your letters like back in the '60s or do you use a computer a typeset library? How would you go about the process of making it in the same style as the thing that it is a parody of without using AI and would that be more or less resource intensive? Do you know how many gallons of water it takes to make and clean some paint brushes? What the carbon footprint of seven tubes of paint is?

12·25 days agoIt’s not necessary to convince them. It’s enough to shake them. Trump posted his vision of himself as Jesus. Sub out the main character and some people will realize the thing they are defending is extremely problematic. The character substitution is their enemy.

64·25 days agoIt’s not just annoying Trumpsters. This is a rephrasing of something they supported which was AI generated. Could I paint this manually? Probably. It would take me a week. Probably but by then we’re going to be worrying about nuclear hamsters or something.
This is a variation of the thing they’re supporting which was generated by ai and shared by the president. Any variation in artistic style is going to ruin the illusion and the message.
