      That’s 100% true and it’s kinda sad to see you getting downvoted. I went though hell before learning this lesson and I hope not everyone has to.

        Of course I get downvoted on Lemmy, a congregation of misfits, mental illness, social outcasts, contrarians, and political extremists. People who live a healthy, well adjusted, and happy life are not on Lemmy.

        Emotional regulation is a skill that can be learned. You have agency and are not just a passive victim of circumstance. Life is not easy, but suffering and unhappiness is optional.
