when especially the wealth tax was way higher
Or when we had one at all. Getting rid of it was a betrayal to the people and really cemented the overall stagnation of our economy. It’s of course no surprise to the average Lemmy user that the opposite of what right wing conservatives say is true. These “christian” “democrats” have it all backwards as usual.
Why would putting a tax on wealth of billionaires affect mid-sized companies?
We both know it wouldn’t and he is lying through his teeth here to appear as someone who represents smaller businesses because he knows that’s supposed to be his party’s target voter. These corrupt fuckers make everyone poorer but themselves.
Rich guy known to take from the lesser fortunate and give it to the overly rich opposes wealth tax? No way!
This is the type of filthy leech that really hurt our economy and our democracy.
Pretty much. I am in support of tariffs against Chinese cars because the Chinese government subsidize them heavily with the goal to destroy our industries in an aggressive act of economic warfare where they likely lose money on every sold car but the damage they cause is greater so it would still be a successful operation in their eyes.
BUT the European and especially the German car industry is dismantling itself with one incredibly stupid decision followed by the next. Even in rural Germany I see charging stations coming up left and right because towns and super markets see the signs that car brands refuse to recognize.
I wouldn‘t be surprised if some of them get bought by China by 2035 just to start producing EVs only anyway. They are too stubborn to save themselves.
And the same rich assholes keep launching smear campaigns against anyone who dares proposing or even making decent politics. Every country is being run more like a Russian oligarchy each day. The information age with the internet and smart phones in every pocket centralizes power in ways that were unimaginable before in ways we didn‘t anticipate. The same tech that could democratize more processes is chaining us.
I haven‘t watched this video either but Rossmann is an extremely pedantic guy who can be extremely biased when talking about things that rub him the wrong way personally. His take about sponsorblock was almost as baffling as Piratesoftware‘s take about SKG and that says something.
I‘ve noticed the algorithm drizzles a good portion of smaller creators on my front page in recent months and that part is growing. I am talking about videos with just a few thousand or few hundred views that make up roughly 10-15 percent of my recommendations or so.
I think Youtube is diversifying exposure so you don‘t see the same faces you‘ve seen the past 15 years as often and new channels get a chance to grow. I am guessing Youtube doesn‘t want to be too dependent on the same huge channels anymore either.
Of course that means huge creators are calling to the pitch forks and torches because they lose revenue but why should I care? Most of them are rich anyway and don‘t necessarily produce better videos than someone with their phone in their garage workshop or a bunch of college students in their dorms. If anything it feels more like the old Youtube again.
There is a lot wrong with Youtube but I couldn‘t care less about huge channels being forced to slim down or try harder.
It‘s also what happens when people really do not pay attention during elections. He‘s doing exactly what I expected him to do: Giving to the rich and take it from everyone else. He pretty much said so himself. Of course the economy and the people will suffer from his destructive policies and it will only get worse the longer he‘s in office because he can not understand nor does he care about the 99%.
Eventually they‘ll go full circle (literally) and come back to scrolls.
The best US propaganda has always been the arts. Music, movies, literature and games. Replace it with AI and you get the type of slopaganda that doesn‘t really work. Especially since everyone can do it. The USA is just paving it‘s way further into irrelevancy.
It‘s terrible and sad. Even more so because AI still gets things wrong all the time.
It horrifies me as a German. They also get titles, descriptions and comments wrong all the time. It legitimately doesn’t work.
