Still happens sometimes on X11 when thing get real screwed
This went away after Windows Vista introduced 3D compositing
Had to read that again because I read it as ‘composting’.
What would 2d composting be?
Vnc in to a box. Then rdp from that box back into the machine you are on.
All error messages should automatically jump around the screen like when you win at Solitaire.
When you won Solitaire, Windows would do this to the cards deliberately.
So I cursed the top left corner for remaining uncovered, which was the style at the time.
