I absolutely refuse to watch the video of Charlie Kirk getting shot, but that means I didn’t have the context to know what happened just before he was shot. I just found that out on Wikipedia:

Audience member: Do you know how many transgender Americans have been mass shooters over the last 10 years?
    Kirk: Too many.
Audience member: Okay, well—[crowd cheers]—it’s five, okay. Now, five is a lot, right? I’ll give you some credit. Do you know how many mass shooters there have been in America over the last 10 years?
Kirk: Counting or not counting gang violence?
    Audience member: Great—

He literally died while misleading people.

    • He died gargling on a fountain of his own blood looking like he just lost a Mortal Kombat fatality. I’m kinda glad it was so graphic and caught from multiple angles because it just might wake up a few of his idiot supporters to how horrific gun violence actually is.

Yeah. There were, for the record, 7 mass shootings in the week leading up to this (non-mass) shooting. 30 victims not appearing in the news, and I want to hear why they’re not as important.

The full video was shown in Italian TV news, was the first event they talked about in each station.

Yea if you aren’t use to graphic content don’t watch it, although it isn’t all that graphic IMO. There’s a lot of blood for a second, that’s it. I am sorta desensitized to horrific violence like this though.

And you are watching someone die, so that in itself could be graphic to you no matter how little gore there is, but Charlie Kirk himself said empathy is a weakness, so I have zero empathy for him and can watch him die with no pain or sympathy in my heart. Truly you reap what you sow shit head

Saw someone earlier claiming he was killed while trying to have a good faith argument with people who’s opinions were different from his. Clowns.

Edit: the person saying he was having good faith arguments was Gavin Newsom.

Charlie Kirk was too smart not to know that he was constantly lying.

His last words, “Counting or not counting gang violence?” were a red herring. Whether it’s gang violence is separate from whether it’s transgender people.

There is simply no way that he didn’t know he was being intentionally dishonest. And those were his last words.

Personally, I don’t believe in political violence for the most part, but I am not at all offended by the idea of violence against propagandists. People who spread lies and misinformation. That may be a distinction without a difference in modern America, but I still think it is important.

IMO he was an advocate for violence so doing violence to him is fair game. Live by the sword die by the sword. Doesn’t matter if you ever actually wield it yourself.

The lemmy.world mods probably put on a pot of coffee or cracked open an energy drink when they saw the memes. Gotta keep that censorship energy up.
