Yeah, like I said, I will never buy a chevy car again. The transmission carrier bearing is worn out. It is also where the speed sensor is housed. So the speedo drops out any time you are not accelerating. This causes a speed/air/fuel mismatch and kills the car any time you slow down unless you keep it in gear (manual). So if I beak too much on the high way or going up to a red light, the car dies and I quickly have to get it in gear and pop the clutch to jump start it, or awkwardly start turning the key to start it normally while moving.
The bearing is about 35$. Taking out, disassembling, rebuilding, and reassembling, reinstalling the transmission is over 3500$. The car is worth 4k at best. Not worth it. Apparently this is a known issue with this transmission and replacing the bearing just gets you another 100k till you have to do it again.
125k miles?!? That’s basically nothing!
For a chevy that’s pretty damn high (especially a newer one) but still
My 2000 CRV is getting close to passing the distance form the Earth to the Moon in terms of miles and my 2007 Kia Rio ain’t far behind
