I think a/c is mostly (entirely?) a north-american naming convention. It’s been “aircon” in the other places I’ve lived in traveled.
I believe the polite way to ask this in their culture is, “Do you come from the land down under?”

Idk if I prefer spam emails or this, both are not environmentally friendly, maybe emails take less electricity, idk, but seeing mail ads feel less intrusive than most ad delivery methods used today.
Emails are orders of magnitude less energy intensive than mailing flyers.
My split AC unit cost me 1350€ with installation. 8k USD is ridiculous.
We bid ours out to four different vendors, lowest was $8K, highest was $13K.
It’s probably for an HVAC system that runs trough the entire building. Not just a unit that cools one room.
