When has the US been post war? Edit: I understand what you’re sayimg now. And you’re looking for ethical capitalism, which is a weird thing to say. In other words, ethical-exploitation. Doesn’t seem like a real thing, yeah?

The only reason FDR caved as much as he did is because the US had a strong communist presence. They’ve fixed that. Your longing for the past is akin to conservatism, no?

alright, I’ll give you a better answer.

I wouldn’t say I’m looking to make capitalism ethical, as much as I’m looking to make it harmless. The big problem is the high and increasing inequality, that eventually makes free societies impossible.

As for FDR: whatever. I neither engage in, nor approve of, political hero-worship. His legacy is complex, including maybe even the image of the führer-president that Trump is exploiting right now.

You’re witnessing capitalism run it’s course. There will never be a such thing as harmless capitalism. Capitalism cannot exist without exploitation. The ruling class has perfected slavery via consumerism. You don’t live in a free society, and it’s going to get worse.

It is going to get worse, but it is inequality that is at the center of the problem. Inequality will be a problem regardless of what our mode of production is.

Some easy reading will open your eyes to what’s going on around you. A book that’s often recommended is Black Shirts and Reds by Michael Parenti. Some of the views regarding China are pretty outdated, and even he fell for some of the western propaganda, but it gives you a much clearer picture of what actually goes on in the world in regards to western imperialism.

Inequality is a feature of Capitalism. It certainly doesn’t have to be this way. The ruling class wants us divided.

Finally someone who gets that the New Deal was nothing more than a concession to keep the people appeased while the rest of the state apparatus systematically dismantled the “communist threat” and the very foundations that allowed the growing unrest to manifest into effect resistance over the decades to come.
