  • And then a sharp turn back to wanting blood again now that there’s a report that the alleged shooter was “living with his trans partner” or whatever.

Like, just be mad that somebody shot somebody. Isn’t that a lot easier? Why complicate this so much? Be this mad when Kirk or Trump or Dems or schoolchildren get shot. It’s all bad and should piss you off, and it’s weird that this would piss you off dependent on who shot him and why, yet school shootings never seem to move the needle at all.

  • Literally toddler brain. YMCA is his Baby Shark. He throws a tantrum in his high chair, so we play his favorite song so he calms down and dances. Remember when he completely halted a Q&A so he could make a crowd listen to Ave Maria 3 times in a row and then just dance to a couple more songs and then left? He’s just a spoiled brat toddler, but when he doesn’t get his way, he illegally orders firings and kidnappings and deaths. He has this power because we give him this power, and I have no fucking clue why anybody entertains his orders.

It’s that Twilight Zone episode where that kid has god powers and disappears people when they criticize him, so the town just does and says anything to appease him even if he’s fucking shit up because he’s a stupid little kid and doesn’t understand that he’s fucking shit up. But our stupid little kid president doesn’t have god powers. He has brain damage. And it’s absolutely insane to me that nobody is seriously talking about this and it’s horrifying.

Keep pushing on the Epstein files. It gave him a stroke and got a propagandist killed. It’s clearly a sore spot to them.

  • I can’t find video since everything is flooded with news people talking about it and won’t show the actual footage. Got a link?

Edit: found one on mastodon. It’s extremely NSFL. Do not watch if even remotely squeamish. I fucking hate that motherfucker and it was still pretty tough to watch. Very lights-out.

  • Dude, no. Just no. You don’t seem to know what words mean, and you’re getting frustrated by that.

Biden didn’t “give handouts to his rich friends” when he bailed out a collapsing bank to save the financial security of the everyday people who banked there. He prevented a cascade of bank runs. You would understand that if the read the article. But you’re free to disagree with the actions he took; what would you have done differently?

It’s not a “handout” if it’s a loan that gets paid back plus significant interest. A “bailout” yeah, sure, but that’s not the same thing. That was my point there. And again, what would you have done differently? Let the economy collapse to spite those who made it happen?

You say he could’ve fast-tracked money, but when he tried he was stopped by the courts. I know you want it to have been possible, but he wasn’t willing to be a dictator. He (perhaps naively) believed in preserving the separation of powers.

As for wasting time, I’m not the one who linked 7 goddamn articles and then didn’t bother to understand them before pretending that they supported my argument.

It’s like there’s a kid dying in the OR and you’re focused on a worrisome mole while I’m saying “hey fuckface, let’s worry about that melanoma after we deal with the gunshot wound.” Yeah, there are corrupt Democrats and they cling to power, and yeah we should do something about that, but demonizing the entire party over a couple of less than perfect incidents is a mind-blowing way to take up space during a fascist takeover by the other party, led by a rapist conman who is in the news every day for egregiously fucking over everyday people to help his rich buddies. He’s turning the white house into a gilded palace. He’s ordering all Latinx to get raided by ICE. He fucked over the farmers AGAIN to enrich his VP. He’s accepted a luxury private jet from Qatar. He very obviously raped children with his bff for years. Thanks to these dumb fucks, I now need to get a prescription to get a covid vaccine in my state, and I’m calling it now, there will be a shitload of measles and covid outbreaks in the next two years.

It is fucking silly to criticize how Obama and Biden handled those crises as fucking over the working class to help their rich buddies when the actual policies they worked for and the bills they signed did the opposite, and Republicans undid as much of it as they could. Capitalism fucking sucks, and it’s doomed to result in massive wealth inequality, and I’d love to shift away from it, but that’s just not happening without a lot of violence. The Democrats are compromising to ensure that everybody gets crumbs today and morsels tomorrow and small bites the next day, and it’s damn sure not enough, but it beats intentionally starving everybody and punishing them for not fattening up enough ahead of their slaughter.

  • Your defense of the first link is a lazy copout. Don’t cite a source and then say “don’t believe my source” lmao.

The bailout money has been paid back, plus interest. It is largely considered a plan that worked. Your complaints are a great example of letting perfect be the enemy of good.

Your politico link points out what I said; Biden wanted to do x for the people; Republicans in Congress stopped him.

Your Atlantic link is paywalled. But I think I’ve read enough to justify disregarding anything else you have to say since it doesn’t seem like you’re reading your own shit, thereby not respecting my time in any meaningful way.

Democrats are absolutely worth criticizing, and it’s not just our right, but our duty to do so. But let’s not pretend that they are the party of fucking over the working class to help their rich friends. That is squarely on the Republican party. All they have done in my lifetime is block help for the working class, roll back help for the working class (which were passed by Democrats), and pass tax breaks for corporations and the wealthy. Oh yeah, and dissolve our rights and speedrun into fascism. How could I forget that one. So if you want to talk about a party fucking the people over, let’s talk about them.

And so now you’ve learned that you need to regularly flush the water heater and change out the anode rod every few years, right? I just bought my first house. Hot water wasn’t working right. Heating element was dead. Why? There was so much scale that the lower element was covered in it. Replaced the element, flushed as much out as I could reasonably remove, and then flushed again six months later while replacing the anode rod. This keeps the corrosion at bay.

  • I recognize that this probably qualifies as “picking holes” as he said, but his questioning of Hamas seems to be more of a rhetorical device than a sincere request for information. It’s not like things had been good in Palestine before the October 7 attack, so questioning why they did it sort of implies that it was out of the blue and not in response to decades of failed attempts to peacefully end settlement expansion and violence against Palestinians. And while acknowledging the horrors that Israel is raining down on them, is it not obvious why Hamas would still have hostages? The hostages are their only bargaining chip, and without the hostages, Palestine would’ve already been wiped off the map.

I’ve been a Radiohead fan for a long time, and I’ll continue to be, but this was an unexpectedly neoliberal take to criticize both sides and yearn for going back to how things used to be, completely ignoring that how things used to be is how we got here. That’s how time works.

I think of this quote from JFK pretty often, and it just refuses to stop being relevant, and apparently more people need to hear it. “Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable.” That’s the reason for the attack. The reason for having hostages is “to cling onto hope for survival against an otherwise guaranteed complete genocide.” They’re holding on and hoping that the world that is watching actually does something to help them, and we just aren’t.
