That’s the free market, assholes. The fascist turd you elected as a president is screwing the whole world with his shitty policies so we, as it is our right, are deciding not to buy american stuff.
Welcome to the find out phase!
fwiw, it seems like Levi’s has a history of supporting democratic candidates, not republishits
and while I’m somewhat tempted to say “should’ve donated more, then”, I also don’t want businesses to be too political in general
that said, yes, this is a direct consequence of what the divided states have done to people, and it’s no shit people will refuse to buy american

The Democratic Party didn’t lose due to a lack of funds, so there’s no reason to believe more money would’ve helped. If anything, which democratic candidates they donated to is likely to be the damning detail.
According to opensecrets.org, Levi’s themselves didn’t donate anything, but some of their senior figures donated a few thousand each as private individuals. They did however spend a quarter million a year on lobbying on trade-related bills to make sure the rules were written in their favor. They might not be Republicans, but they are not the good guys either.

My kid was going to buy Levi’s wallet until I told him that it’s American corporation. Lost a sale there in EU
Good kid.
I switched to Nudie Jeans 10 years ago.
I just made the switch.
They ain’t cheap, but damn are they comfy and seem well madeI wasn’t prepared for $200-$400 jeans.
I already bitch about buying $40 jeans. lmao
Holy fuck I almost had a heart attack. Why would anyone ever pay that much for non-specialized (i.e. winter jackets) clothing?
Arguably, you could wear jeans regularly for a decade plus, assuming you don’t change size. I have carhartt jeans that are about 20 years old, and still going strong. I would wear them more often if they were quite that heavy.
A specialized winter coat often cost significantly more per wear.
Yeh, they’re expensive.
But lifetime of free repairs. And ethically made.I’ve come to realise that if I want to see everyone get a living wage (not just a minimum wage), then I have to be prepared to spend more for that.
So I do my best to buy ethical products made as close to home as I can.And fuck Nestlé
Good
Levis, the new Hugo Boss.
A lot of Americans don’t like Levi’s either. Nobody cares.
