Waste heat from data centers can boost air temperatures in downwind neighborhoods by as much as 4 degrees Fahrenheit, researchers at Arizona State University report in a new study conducted in the Phoenix metro area, the hottest in the U.S.
If Phoenix has heavy Industries, piped steam is often useful.
There’s also central heating (just hot water eg for cooking, bathing, dishwasher etc.), however this requires prior design.
Then there’s a better option to have the chimney higher up so the hot air doesn’t impact downstream.
