I think it’s a sentiment shared in most western countries nowadays and probably others as well.
We’ve grown disillusioned with political figureheads, they circular rhetoric and straight up lies.
Hell, I remember a few years ago a local news outlet published a statistic of “the most trusted professions” in my country. Suffice to say ‘Politician’ was at the bottom.
I’m not sure of that. My impression is that many far-right voters actually want lefty things to happen. Since that’s not happening, their solution is to vote further to the right.

Of course things won‘t improve overall the way most people vote. The way I see it the only choice we actually have is between taxing the rich or eating the rich but most voters haven‘t figured that one out.
