My main phone is now 5 years old. The only way I’m replacing it, is if it breaks or becomes too much of an issue running things. I only got it for the 5G speed which means it’s good for awhile. Functions fine, I hadn’t done anything too stupid with it, it’s got an Otterbox protection case on it.

It can’t be helped. There are websites out there that function best on both platforms. I’ve tried Floorp and Librewolf when trying to use whatever the therapist tossed at me. Things just ended up not working out, because the sites simply can’t care about those browsers. Only Chrome works best. Firefox, they throw a fit about versions and stuff.
That’s out of my hands.

Windows 8 being released as it was, was the death knoll period for how things are treated based on what platform. It was obvious where the focus shifted. Since then, websites started being designed with mobile in mind, that barely worked. We’re having all of these dumb virtual services that work optimally - on phone. We have apps that would’ve been great to also have desktop only work on - you guessed it - phones.
Programs are now called Apps. I think troubleshooting on mobile is perhaps one of the most frustrating and hopeless experiences one can have. When something just breaks, it could very well be anything and your phone is faster to being obsolete than your desktop would.
Where the hell did we go wrong?

People still use Internet Explorer - oh - I mean Edge?

At one point in time, it was. Now it’s the opposite.

It appears to fall short of its marketing promises, though
Figures.
Why aren’t you teaching him the meaning of savings?
What’s donating everything he earns to charity going to do for him? Win brownie points for the afterlife?

lol, gotta keep that religious scam scheme a-chugging.

They’re working on a script, last I looked up.
I don’t know.
Maybe it is because people can’t have a rational, civil and mature discussion about politics?
And it devolves into shit-flinging, bad faith debates and all that?
I mean, why do you have to come off so dishonest like this?

doing it in power rangers style lol

Windows 11 a newcomer?
Dude it’s already like 5-ish years old.
Also, I’m going to be very technical here and I don’t care if people hate it. But Windows 10 and 11 both outpaced XP and I believe that once the OS reaches a user login, that still counts as the OS as booted up.
Other than that, yeah it’s really a no-brainer why Windows 11 lost in just about every category except the boot sequence, save being behind 8.1

I’m one of those people that actually would rather not know how some technology works so I can retain some level of surprise and admiration. I know generally how a fair number of technology devices, process and functions work but I don’t get as excited.
I would rather die in my sleep, than being told I have a certain amount of time to live by.
Because that’s what I always saw death as, just permanent sleep.

In some ways, I’m not.
In other times, when I want to simply drop cold-hard truths or unfiltered opinions. People lose their minds. We’re not ready for those kind of thoughts, both surface web and fediverse, even.

I am reluctant to re-visit Half-Life 2 and its episodes. Simply because they were great games for their time and overall classics. I just remember in Episode 2, looking back longingly at the devastated City 17 when you launched the rocket in episode 1. How much reflection I did about the series I completed and the episodes I would complete after.
It was an experience going through those games all the way the first round, recalling all of the hype, the memes, the talks and so much build up. Revisiting it now for me would just be rewriting those memories over.
The Messenger is another. Really loved that game for what it was. It had so much charm to it.

RIP to that woman. Very gutsy to do that at the cost of her career’s prestige.
If they’ll even happen. A certain someone is currently thinking and probably will try to dismantle them.
