I have my great aunt’s Sunbeam waffle iron from the 50s and it still works great. Appliances used to be made to be repairable, and there were appliance repair shops all over the place

But do you really? What would be different if you did vs didn’t do that? If someone does something to harm you in some way, think about never trusting them again and/or limiting or ending all communication with them. Believe it or not, some people enjoy getting an emotional rise out of others, and you run the risk of giving them that. What drives people like that crazy is getting nothing from you

In all seriousness though, we have a very dedicated restaurant near us run by a couple from the Verona area in far-northern Italy, and they use no tomatoes or corn. Pretty much every dish they make would’ve been possible pre-Columbus. This includes many styles of pasta, sauces based in olive oil or butter, and other things like beef, shrimp, mushrooms, pistachios, peas, and a variety of cheeses.

Mexican and Italian. Both have very rich regional traditions with a ton of variety. Of course, Mexican food is a blend of Native American and European traditions, and Italian food (often) depends heavily on New World crops like tomatoes and corn, so these strict delineations are not real

Aldi has opened a few stores in Texas but is really going to struggle to compete with HEB. If all I had was Kroger or Safeway though, I’d take Aldi any day

So here’s the thing…my car doesn’t need a fucking house. My car can live outside just fine. I don’t park my car outside because my garage is “filled with junk,” but because it’s filled with gym equipment, tools, and gardening supplies.
