You mean the song “Stan” by Eminem, where he talks about a guy named Stan who is a fan of something (in this case a famous person)? “[term] Stan” has been a thing for a couple years now. It was a song about an obsessive fan who doesn’t understand parasocial relationships, but the term has grown to a much broader usage.

1·17 days agoKeep the stare for about 10 seconds until it starts to get uncomfortable for everyone, and then just say “hmm” while maintaining eye contact.
Pull out a little notebook and write some shit in it, put it back in your pocket, look back at them quickly then continue as if nothing happened.
1·17 days agoWhich is totally fine if you do calculations like that every once in a while. If your job or hobby requires frequent multiplication by not-nice numbers, it can be extremely convenient to be able to do this kind of math mentally. Even if it’s just a couple seconds, it can be really annoying having to “switch gears” to grabbing a calculator
The… Whole printer? The only thing they changed are the hot end and the control board. The entire construction of the printer, including all of the linear motion components that make these things so rock solid, haven’t been touched. Swapping those two components out isn’t anywhere close to a “custom built printer”. Besides firmware, it’s 90% stock, and it’s trivial for someone with the expertise to get a klipper profile built for something like this.
