Okay, I verified it, it’s actually 14 months old, so I was wrong. But yeah, it’s a relatively new project.

Besides DHH being problematic. It’s really weird that a vibe-coded OS that is less than about a year old is getting millions of dollars of funding while other critical FLOSS software is constantly underfunded.

First Distro Used: Not entirely sure. We had a couple Linux computers growing up that my dad set up and he distro hopped a bit. I used Ubuntu(or variants, e.g. xubuntu) during high school and a bit of college.

My 3 year old is obsessed with it. He’ll randomly come up to me, say siiiix seeveeen and then run away giggling to himself.

Some experienced programmers forget how difficult computers and programming can be for beginners. It’s obvious for us to look at the error and resolve it, but for most people it’s pretty arcane. Relevant XKCD

Unfortunately, I think this is also a right of passage of some sorts. If you want to continue programming you will encounter a problem that you can’t ask or find the answer on the internet and you will have to work through it yourself. I’ve had problems I’ve been stuck in for weeks or months. At least for me, it’s always been such a high when I finally solve these. :)
