I had to rely too every month on trips to buy food and I didn’t like at all that I couldn’t be self sufficient. But at least it was my money.

Plus, the fear. Just going into town one a month was terrible. I can’t imagine him going to the camps 40 times a year. He mentions how much of a toll it took on him and I can imagine. But doing it that often? That’s a massive will to survive. I would give up. I can take what nature throws at me, but humans are unpredictable and dangerous. It would be just constant suffering and anxiety.

Yup. People forget that whatever the Nazis did, we only see them in a bad way is because they lost. Their enemies are making the movies and TV series we consume to this day.

Unless an actual enemy of the us defeats them, they will never be seen as villains. Even if they lose a lot of power but one of their allies takes over.

England committed countless atrocities and while that is known, they are not seen as villains. They are not in power anymore but their ally is. Even Israel can be a thousand times worse than Nazis, as long as they remain in the winning group they will be forever the poor victim of antisemitism defending itself against evil.

That’s what I thought, but when I talk to these sick people they say they “like” the loud, horrible, scary, obnoxious sound. They do it because they feel pleasure with the sound itself.

If it was true, they would do it even if they were alone. They would drive to the middle of nowhere to enjoy their horrible sound without other noise. But they only do it in heavily populated areas. Almost if they are really just fucking assholes wanting attention.

What is the truth? I guess we’ll never know. I can only hope for the law to be changed.

But unlike you, I wish no harm to the machines. Only to the drivers. Machines are useful tools, even if loud. The drivers should lose the right to drive. If you remove their tool they will find another one to misuse.

The drivers are the problems, the criminals. Not the tool they use to commit crime.

Why the down votes?

A company removed your freedom, their founder even famously saying that consumer don’t know what they want but apple does, knowingly give up all their rights to a corporation when there are alternatives, declare that they trust the corporation, accept when the corporation forbids them from giving anyone else money, and now they are going to cry when the corporation fucks them? Like it did several times in the past and yet they remained loyal?

Apple users are insane… The only reason to use android is because it’s the only current viable alternative to apple. But they use their stuff out of some weird masochistic choice, and then cries when their daddy beats them.

They 100% deserve what they got while they keep rewarding apple for their evil behaviour.

And if I ever give Google money, I 100% deserve to get fucked while using it too. And it would be stupid to expect anything else.

That loud cars not only exist, but there are actually more of them than in 3rd world countries. That it’s a “culture” here, and people actually use their excess money to make cars louder, bigger and more dangerous to everyone else (not the driver, he pays extra for his safety).

Coming from a 3rd world country to Australia it was one of my biggest disappointments. I thought we had loud cars because we we’re “uncivilised” or didn’t have the money to fix them. I was so wrong…

There are many others, but I guess this was the biggest illusion I had about first world countries.

It may be a generation thing. For quite a while YouTube was about content, not presentation. You usually watched the video about something and that was all the video showed, specially because monetisation wasn’t so common. Even garbage was mostly just the garbage itself (and there was lots of it, but different than now). It was a treasure chest, full of content people uploaded just because they wanted other people to see.

I guess this guy is OK for the current "standards*, but that’s a very, very low bar now. I’m not criticising him in particular, but YouTube in general. It’s always a shock to me when I get exposed to it, which is luckily rare.

It’s a good option for those wanting to use YouTube. In my case, I just avoid it where I can. I’m not going to fight against a content creator. If he wants to make videos for algorithm garbage it’s because he doesn’t respect audience like me. He doesn’t have to make what I like, I don’t have to watch it. It’s just annoying that from time to time I fall prey to a video trough Lemmy.

I use newpipe by the way. YouTube itself is blocked on my browser. But I use it too rarely to bother with more blockers.

Either way that just makes a shitshow even worse. The only hope of the internet is smaller areas like Lemmy. And even that is being destroyed. The amount of ai slop I see on the front page is increasing, and it’s not their fault. They took the content from a cesspool like Facebook and didn’t realise what it was. Even I saw many things and I didn’t realise it was a fake. And when I do, it make me want to use the internet less.

Maybe it’s the whole internet doomed.

I used to make Blender videos back in the day. I loved when people liked what I did or wanted to learn. Charging money for it would destroy the magic and make it a job and eventually I would make garbage like this to maximise the profit.

I deleted my YouTube account when I realised what it was becoming. I had no idea it would actually get much, much, much worse than I could ever imagine.

The subject is so interesting, but I forgot how cancerous and disgusting YouTube videos became. I rarely watch videos on it anymore.

The stupid doll stuff, the advertisers, the unnecessary fluff… Even the most interesting subjects become unwatchable. I would like to watch a video with just the comparisons, which are pretty cool.
