It isn’t about showing a bad guy who’s boss. It is showing a bad guy that you won’t accept the aggression anymore. I’m not pro war against Russia at all, but I’m also pro showing Russia that aggression will have severe consequences and hence should be stopped.

With a very big emphasis on “theory”. They somehow got so consumed by their theories that they now live in a parellel reality - or they don’t actually believe what they say, I can’t tell.

But the polls and lobbyists say that for now it’s more advantegous to keep it up.
Given that in the end it will be us paying that bill anyway, they will keep it up until the very end. Yay…

The way I see it, it’s up to Ukraine to decide which nation’s troops are a legitimate target in their country.
And so far, I can only see them shoot at one nation’s soldiers: your soldiers, Putin. So piss off.
If all of (or at least the larger countries in) the EU would be as prepared as Finland, Europe would be a better place. If I look at my country, though…
You do realise that contrary to the US (for obvious reasons…), almost no European country has a military fit for prolonged conflict?
I cannot imagine that their airforce survives contact with Nato.
It wouldn’t survive contact with the whole of NATO.
But at least since this spring, it isn’t credible anymore that NATO’s response to Russian aggression would include the US.
Europe alone would have a much harder time against Russia, which is why Putin might feel empowered for further military adventures here.
Yet we have the problem that a company seated in Germany but Chinese-owned is propelling the tools used by enemies of ours to wage a war against a country that wishes to align with us.
