Audiobookshelf actually handles graphic novels pretty well too - I’ve been using it for my manga collection and the mobile app works great for reading, but if you’re on iOS check out the soundleaf app which is even beter for connecting to audiobookshelf servers.

That “functional but charming” UI reminds me of audiobookshelf with the soundleaf app - same vibe where it dosn’t look fancy but gets the job done better than most polished alternatives!

Besides Nothing Phone, you’ve got Fairphone (sustainable/repairable), Sony (great cameras), Asus (gaming focused), Nokia (budget-friendly), OnePlus (speed/value), and Xiaomi (if you can import) all working to varying degreees in the US market - tho carrier compatibility can be trickly so always check bands before buying.
