It’s not only religious people, it’s just people collectively. If you are famous enough someone will want to see/touch/own your hair, your belongings, your undegarments, or the chair you were shot in.
This is how Sony’s Spider-Man rights work (worked?). It’s why we’ve had 3 reboots in the last 20 years and why Marvel had to contract the rights back from Sony to get him in the Avengers movies.
