If only there was a way to do a check for compatibility on the os side for a standard that has been available since before the predecessor os was released and fall back to the older driver if it fails

The IT Crowd pretty nicely explains a good portion of my work day. 90% of it is either restarting things, signing out of and into things, and explaining fairly simple things in simple ways for people who I hope are very good at what they do because they definitely aren’t good with tech.

I don’t discount your point but coming from the support side, it’ll cause confusion to call it a layer 6 issue than a layer 8 issue. Layer 0 issues won’t change at least, especially as long as sales gets in the middle of project planning.
