I started as a libertarian… I was 15, but there’s hope for everyone.

They are foreign to the American ideal.

What ideal would that be? Manifest Destiny, the genocidal land theft from indigenous people followed by enslaving Africans to build the nation?

This is America, and underneath the rhetoric and the eagles, always has been America. You’ve just been brainwashed into believing otherwise.

Obama had all the power he needed to stop the WoT, the Patriot Act, the militarization of police, and the corruption of Wall Street in its tracks, but nope.

The ruling stating that presidents have complete immunity from persecution for acts taken in the official capacity as president, in which the judges made it clear that could even include assassinating political rivals, did not pass during Trump’s administration.

It passed during Biden’s administration. The Supreme Court basically told him “you can assassinate Trump and nothing would happen to you.” He didn’t even pursue him for persecution.

Democrats are not just useless, they’re complicit.

Not to mention that America inspired the Nazis, and after we “beat them”, we hired them to run NASA and NATO…

Refusing to vote for pro-genocide, pro-homeless-persecution candidates isn’t “perfection”, it’s basic human empathy. I could probably give a pass on the other points for political purposes.

Absolutely. Democrats support genocide and (unless a Republican is in charge) support ICE. That’s not a “lesser evil”… it also isn’t even quantifiably a lesser measure of dead bodies, if that’s all you care about for some reason.

The DNC is where progressive movements go to die. It cannot be reformed.

The courts already allowed DNC to rig their primaries, I bet they’ll keep up the theater. Might as well.

He vetoed legal psychedelics, unemployment pay for striking workers, repeatedly ignored COVID restrictions, maintained a relationship with AIPAC, and did photo ops throwing out the only possessions of homeless people.

with no medical benefits. Earning less money than I would’ve if I had been able to go on unemployment.

It’s a shit country. The social contract does not exist anymore. Thinly-veiled threats of violence are the only thing still keeping the population in line, including the threat of homelessness which is also a form of violence.

Once, when I was on acid, I asked myself - how would I define America? The answer I settled on is, “America is everyone who is stuck here” (or forced by economic or otherwise imperially-orchestrated hardship to come here, even if they would prefer to remain in their home country otherwise). Everyone who lives in America and cannot comfortably escape lives in a prison. You may get the equivalent of a Nordic prison if you’re privileged, but look how many wealthy celebrities live miserable lives - it’s still a prison.

And so I live by advice I heard from a prisoner. I wish I could remember the source, but I can’t. The advice, as to how to survive in prison, was: “Take everything they give you. Give nothing in return.” It’s important to note that this applies to the government, to corporations, to capitalism, NOT to your fellow prisoners (Americans). The only way we get through this is each other.

And (in the experience of hypothetical pirate goblins I’ve hypothetically spoken to) won’t result in your ISP shutting your internet off until you agree to be nice and never do that again.
