- prescriptions: good, small minimal copay but can basically get whatever i need or ask for
- dental: good, annoying minor deductable but overall decent
- disabillity insurance: good
- life insurance: havent used yet and no forseeable dependants or stakeholders in that sort of thing but whatevs
- other medical stuff: havent used 99% of it but orthotics was awesome

Private health insurance is one of the largest scams ever perpetrated on Americans, heavily contributing to one of the worst healthcare systems of any developed nation.
Tying it to employment is just icing on the cake.
Access to affordable healthcare is mostly dependent on decent employment. Many people who are employed, many with more than one job, don’t get health insurance. If you don’t have healthcare, it’s simply not affordable unless you’re quite wealthy. I’ve seen hospital bills that listed aspirin at $250 apiece.
