Let me introduce you to… Reynard! It is a gecko based web browser, it’s goal is to make browsers much more usable in older iOS although you still have to sideload it!
As farest as I know this is the first ever browser to use different web engine for iOS, it is insanely cool on-going project!
Kinda true. On iOS all browsers have to use the safari core as browser engine, but you still get the Firefox layer on top, most importantly account sync.
Like if I’m on the toilet, see an article I wanna read on lemmy, but it has too many ads, I just send the tab to my PC and read it later. Also bookmark syncing comes in very handy for me.
So my options for iOS seem to be Libre Wolf Firefox Duck duck go
🤔
Orion Browser seems nice as it supports FireFox and Chrome Extensions
there’s no other real browser on ios, everything is just a gui reskin of safari. afaik there’s no benefit to using anything else.
