“We are here, and this is now.” Constable Visit, a strict believer in the Omnian religion, occasionally quoted that from their holy book. Vimes understood it to mean, in less exalted copper speak, that you have to do the job that is in front of you.

Nothing is important Being true to yourself is important.
Whether that means working hard to do your best or challenge yourself, take it easy because you need rest, or something else.

To quote the great 20th Century philosopher John Michael Osbourne:

It’s not how you play the game,

it’s if you win or lose

    You can choose, don’t confuse

Win or lose, it’s up to you

    Started well, ended badly.

The beginning message is that you are being distracted by unimportant things then makes focusing on the job important?? This is some LinkedIn lunatic level lunacy.

Success is not measured by how you focus on your job. Measure your success by living a kind and compassionate life and growing the lives of those around you.

Or don’t, I don’t care. Just don’t make your life about fucking job.

Sounds like loser talk to me, unless someone is better at something then I am, in which case performance is completely unimportant
