Not holding my breath on that one.

I will say that it isn’t usually like this.

I mean there’s always drama somewhere but this drama is especially big because a LOT of people found out all at once that either:

1. their content feeds were being censored/manipulated without their knowledge

Or

2. They were being shadowbanned (either as an individual or because their home server was censored)

by a developer who went to some pretty incriminating lengths to obfuscate the censorship he was baking into a tool that lots of people were using.

Most of the time I look at my memes and the drama passes me right by. It’s there if you look for it, of course, but this particular snafu is a bit of an outlier.

It’s less the tongue and more that the mouth is too open.

I tend to think if they’re old enough to ask the question they’re old enough to (attempt to) puzzle out the answer. Obviously there can be too much of a good thing, but I think on average most parents hand-hold too much (the ones that aren’t simply neglectful)

Obviously, yes, they need the tools to figure things out - which is why you teach the tools. Teach method instead of memorization.

I mean I think i’ll be a more gentle mom than that, but essentially, yeah. Kids are actually super great at learning. If they already show interest in something, they just need support and guidance, not someone to do it for them.

If I were a parent I wouldn’t answer questions like these.

Instead i’d ask “why do you think it is?” and use that as a teaching moment about how to do research and how to test a hypothesis.

We still largely believe that there shall be another election on schedule and that people can vote in a way that shall be counted and shall matter.

I don’t believe that, and if we’re talking about the “shall matter” part I don’t know that I ever have.

They are rigging the votes as we watch. The second best time to fracture this unjust “peace” was 400 odd years ago, but the second best time is today.

The problem is that even encountering someone of a different lifestyle sets people off.

Like, I should be allowed to hold hands with my partners in public. If we want to wear cat ears or dog collars or pronoun pins or pride flags, there’s nothing wrong with not hiding who we are.

That’s pretty different from asking you to participate in our kinks - but most straight people don’t seem to understand that.
