It’s not that I’m opposed to all forms of giving people things. It’s just that I would rather we help give people good things like solar panels, wind turbines, electric vehicles, free or low cost bus fair. Things that will move our country forward instead of backwards.

25·1 day agoData shows it’s working. Maybe not enough to bring Twitter down right now but hopefully it can die a death of a thousand cuts.
https://bskycheck.com/stats.php. Bluesky was averaging roughly 20000 new users per day. Now we see over 56000 new users on December 23 and over 89000 on December 24.
I’ve been seeing some people say the only reason they’re on Twitter is because they follow some artists who are only on Twitter.
The thing to keep in mind is that not everyone is as informed as we are about Twitter’s Nazi problem. Some people may just follow their favorite artists and celebrities and drown out all the political stuff and not realize that by using Twitter they are helping enrich and sustain a person and a platform that radicalize people and spread Nazi propaganda.
That’s because our taxpayer dollars are used to subsidize this obsolete form of energy. We should be focusing on energy of the future instead of energy of the past.
GrapheneOS also has an official Bluesky account. Here’s a link to the same post except you don’t need to visit that nazi-bar website and don’t need to login: https://bsky.app/profile/grapheneos.org/post/3m6fm6vseik27

6·16 days agoI’m doing all I can to oppose this. I believe that if this is enacted it will create a bad precedence that may result in other countries adopting similar requirements. It must be firmly rejected now so strongly that no other country dares to try it. My goal is to convince hotel companies to oppose the policy because they will be hurt by less people traveling.
I urge everyone to contact hotel companies based in the US and say you won’t be coming if this is enacted or say you’re avoiding the US because of the Trump regime. Also in truth even if this doesn’t get enacted I still strongly suggest you still avoid visiting the US. The more people who boycott the US the more companies will feel pressured to help defeat the Trump regime. Sadly in the US companies can have a lot of influence on politics although so far for the hotel companies I’ve checked it seems like they don’t have much political spending with the exception of Robert Bigelow who’s a right-wing megadonor. If you have no choice but to come to the US please consider avoiding anything he owns although judging from the Wikipedia article I think it’s unlikely you’ll encounter something he owns.

15·19 days agoWe’re all in this together in a way, what becomes normalized in one country risks coming for you one day. Do you notice how other countries have Trump copycats? In fact Trump has learned a lot from Hungary. So when something bad happens in one country we must stand against it no matter where we are because sooner or later if we don’t it will come for us.

Those “resort fees” were part of Biden’s FTC’s efforts to crack down on junk fees. Trump is now undoing that work. https://www.investopedia.com/trump-has-undone-biden-s-war-on-junk-fees-11772720
